RMSL Modern Slavery Statement
RMSL Modern Slavery Statement

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 1st  April 2026.

Referral Management Services Limited (RMSL) takes a zero-tolerance approach towards modern slavery.

Our organisation is committed to the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the abolition of modern slavery and human trafficking. We acknowledge the role that we can play to help to bring this about.

We are an equal opportunities employer, fully committed to creating and ensuring an inclusive and respectful working environment for all our staff.

Our Company

Delivering clinically led electronic referral management solutions for more than 12 years to a patient population of over 30 million. We established a foundation of professionalism and credibility in healthcare service delivery.

Today, RMSL is recognised for its comprehensive solutions in referral management, capacity and demand management as well as advice and guidance systems.

Our Supplier Checks

RMSL ensure all our suppliers complete our third-party supplier forms annually, aligning this process within our Supplier Compliance – Management and Check Procedure. Our third-party supplier forms cover the following:

  • Use of Modern Slavery Statements on Company websites
  • Modern Slavery Act within internal policies and procedures
  • Staff training on Modern Slavery

We build relationships with our suppliers to ensure they understand our values, and comply with our expectation and commitment to protect human rights and the environment.

As a purchaser of goods and services, we have the opportunity to influence good practices in the employment of people by other organisations. Our goal is to continue monitoring high risk category areas with suppliers to ensure the strategic supply chains are free from Modern Slavery. The high-risk sectors for Modern Slavery include office supplies, ICT equipment and health and social care. These sectors can experience labour shortages, leading to the recruitment of vulnerable workers with little oversight, and potentially exposing them to exploitation. RMSL hold contractual arrangements for these sectors through national frameworks or local suppliers therefore the residual risk of Modern Slavery violations in these areas is low.

RMSL do not enter into business with any organisation, in the UK or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to be involved in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.

Our Obligations

Considering the obligation to report on measures to ensure all parts of our business and supply chain are slavery free, we will continue to review our workplace policies and procedures to assess their effectiveness in identifying and tackling modern slavery issues.

RMSL holds the following policies in place:

  • Whistle-Blowing Policy
  • Anti Bribery Policy
  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy
  • Equal Pay Policy
  • Health & Safety Policy
  • Employee Well-Being Policy
  • Equal Opportunities Employer Statement

RMSL staff also undergo annual online ‘Understanding Modern Day Slavery’.

Our policies and training structure is a stronghold to ensuring all employees of RMSL have the knowledge and confidence to be able to understand, support, raise and report any issues or concerns they have whether this be relating to allegations of fraud, malpractice, impropriety, unethical behaviour or improper conduct. Our policies and procedures ensure that concerns are dealt with robustly and fairly, and that members raising such concerns are not subject to any form of victimisation.

Our Promise

  • Through undertaking due diligence in our activity, we seek to ensure that we do not inadvertently support Modern Slavery. We make our processes known to potential staff and suppliers as a means of encouraging good practice.
  • We ensure that all staff are legally entitled to work in the UK and that the contract is directly with them.
  • We follow guidance provided by Gov.UK on Tackling Modern Slavery in Government Supply Chains https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/ppn-0223-tackling-modern-slavery-in-government-supply-chains/ppn-0223-tackling-modern-slavery-in-government-supply-chains-guidance-html
  • We will continue to strengthen and review our supplier onboarding process to embed checks on suppliers to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
  • Specified public authorities have a duty to notify the Home Office of any individual encountered in England and Wales who they believe is a suspected victim of slavery or human trafficking. Whilst RMSL is not listed as a relevant public authority in this respect other organisations, including NGOs (Non-government organisations), are also encouraged to put forward notifications where they encounter a potential victim of modern slavery who does not want to enter the national referral mechanism (NRM).
